I’ve spent a lot of time discussing some of the perceptual differences between men and women. Men are linear, logical and analytical. Women are non linear, given to feelings more than reason, and emotionally expressive.
If you can think back to the time you were a child, you might remember that your senses were far more acute. Colors were more vivid, experiences such as going to the zoo were filled with much more detail. Our level of attention was very focused and alive. We were completely thrilled with a new toy or simply going to the park. As we age, our senses grow duller. Our level of attention drops because we live busy lives and as a consequence run around trying to complete our “To do” lists.
Relating to women in a manner that they can attach themselves to and become enthralled requires a focus on the senses. Different from men, women are still very much in touch with the senses. Therefore, it’s important that when you are with a woman you avoid making her feel like one more item on your “To do” list. What I mean is that you must actively detach from the daily grind and deliberately slow your tempo a bit. A child -not unlike a woman- focuses on the experience of their senses. Therefore any time spent focusing on appeasing their senses will go a long way to creating rapport…
