The same limited routines which keep us congruent with social norms yet never leave an impression or spike emotions is why executing a skill set that does gives you such an advantage.  If you make a girl laugh, demonstrate wit, or recount a unique experience you will give her something to connect to with you.  The same polite, predictable and pathetic playing it safe interactions leave nothing to separate you from the majority of men out there.  Or from their results.
