A major hang up I see with many guys is the ability to open a conversation.  The biggest part of the problem is simply the functioning of a man’s mind.  Here’s what I mean: as men we tend toward the analytical, logical, and linear.  The idea of an opener is not to cross the finish line (get her number, date, seduce, etc) with 1 line.  But opening a set of girls can become a pressure cooker when you feel you have 1 sentence to convey everything you want her to hear and get the result you want.

An opener in its truest sense acts as a distraction or a diversion.  In most cases, opinion openers do just that.  The introduction of a question causes a response on the part of the target that naturally engages you.  The reason this is effective is because any woman with any semblance of sex appeal is getting hit on constantly.  Can I buy you a drink?  Hey baby what’s your name?  You look familiar.  Lines like these rarely work unless the target has demonstrated attraction toward you.  At that point you can say nearly anything.  But women are programmed to reject lines they hear over and over.  You lack credibility when you say something someone has heard over and over. 

Therefore, the opinion opener is very effective because it doesn’t give her mind the natural reaction of rejection because the first words out of your mouth are not the same as every other guys.  From here it’s a natural progression through the model from transition, to attraction, to rapport…
