Bootstraps

Many of you who read my blog and hear about my experiences probably wish you were living this life.  From the outside, it may appear as a series of effortless hook ups with beautiful women, in the hottest venues, void of any negativity.

But the truth is, as with any endeavor, most people aren’t aware of the work that’s required to achieve whatever level of success.  The focus tends to be on the results, not on the stops and starts, mistakes, lessons learned, soul searching, sleepless nights, and blood, sweat and tears that it took to get there.

Something interesting happens once you become proficient at a particular skill.  Especially when that something is so clearly the opposite of what many people including you thought possible, and in fact required all this work.  You lose your innocence.   You simply didn’t go to bed one night and wake up the next with this knowledge, skill, ability, and reality.  You had to put in the time.  You had to work very hard to achieve this.  And in so doing, you respect it more.  You remember those times that you opened a set and then ran out of things to say.  Or the times you called back a number close and it didn’t go anywhere.  Or when you were on a date with a girl and were so intimidated you were paralyzed with fear.

If you want real success with this material, you have to be willing to pick yourself up by the bootstraps and start climbing.  I can and will speed the process for you, but at the end of the day your level of achievement is based on your desire.  Are you willing to go out and practice by yourself?  Are you willing to subject yourself to a learning curve by making those first 100 approaches?  Can you handle the concept of making a call back and having it not go as well as you’d like?   You can accept these challenges or avoid them.  But whatever the choice, its up to you..
